What one-dog-at-a-time care means

Private Boarding is an exclusive, pet-free home arrangement. No resident dogs, no other guest dogs, and no unfamiliar animals sharing the house. Your dog has space to settle into their normal rhythm, with feeding, walks and company planned around their usual routine.

We deliberately distinguish this from Social Boarding, which may involve one or two other dogs. If you have two dogs from the same household, tell us at enquiry so we can assess whether they can stay together privately.

What's included

  • Indoor sleeping in a sitter's home
  • No resident pets or other visiting pets
  • Daily walks and playtime
  • Photo updates during the stay
  • A match based on your dog's temperament and care needs

Standard Private Boarding

For settled, house-trained dogs comfortable with some time alone. A sitter may be away for up to four hours at a time and up to six hours across the day. If that is too long for your dog, ask for higher-presence care.

Near-Constant Private Boarding

For dogs who need someone nearby for most of the day and night, including some seniors, puppies and dogs needing a more supported routine. Time alone is limited to an hour. If your dog cannot be left at all, we need to assess a separate arrangement before confirming care.

Compare private boarding options or send an enquiry and describe what your dog is comfortable with.

Who is private dog boarding for?

It may suit dogs who do not enjoy unfamiliar canine company, need a calmer environment, or struggle in busy boarding settings. Anxious, senior and special-needs dogs can be considered, but suitability depends on their individual needs. Private boarding does not itself mean uninterrupted supervision.

Where we offer private boarding

We focus on inner Brisbane, including Paddington, Red Hill, New Farm, Teneriffe and nearby suburbs. Availability depends on a suitable private home and your dates, so we confirm the match before booking. See our coverage.

Questions about exclusive boarding

Do you only board one dog at a time?

Private Boarding means no resident or unrelated visiting pets in the sitter's home. For a family with more than one dog, we can assess a private stay together by arrangement.

Will my dog meet any other dogs?

Your dog will not share the sitter's home with other animals under Private Boarding. Tell us if your dog also needs to avoid dog encounters on walks so we can plan their care appropriately.

Is someone there the whole time?

Not under Standard Private Boarding. It allows absences of up to four hours at a time, six hours total per day. Near-Constant Private Boarding limits time alone to one hour. Dogs requiring uninterrupted supervision need an individually assessed arrangement.

Is this the same as Social Boarding?

No. Social Boarding involves canine company. Private Boarding is the option without resident or other visiting pets.

Tell us about your dog

Send your dates, suburb and a little about your dog's routine, temperament and time alone. We'll check a suitable sitter and confirm the care arrangement before you book.
